Rhode Island's
O. Ahlborg & Sons, Inc. selected to build the
residences and clubhouse
It isn't typical for
a local family-owned company to survive four generations
of unbroken management, especially in the contracting
business, but O. Ahlborg & Sons, Inc. isn't
a typical company.
O. Ahlborg & Sons,
Inc., of Cranston, RI, is the contracting and construction
management firm selected to build the spectacular
residences and clubhouse/sales center for The Villages
on Mount Hope Bay. The clubhouse and sales center
are scheduled to open in December 2003.
O. Ahlborg & Sons,
Inc. celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2001 and
still is going strong with a reputation for excellence
that is reflected in this fantastic new project.
The 10,000 square foot clubhouse will contain a
fitness center, wood-paneled library, billiards
room and main level social room with a massive fireplace.
A second-story deck features a two-story gazebo
that offers panoramic waterfront views. There will
also be an outdoor pool and putting green, as well
as landscaped walking paths.
Glenn Ahlborg was
named company president in 1996 after serving as
vice president and general manager for 14 years.
They have designed and built dozens of unique residential
landmarks including Jefferson at Providence Place,
the Hotel Viking in Newport, RI, and the Hyannis
Harborview Hotel in Hyannis, MA, as well as Olmsted
Gardens in Providence and a long list of other senior
and specialty residential complexes.
"We're proud
to be associated with this community," said
Ahlborg, "and we believe our collaboration
with development manager Arthur Casey and such national
award-winners as architect Gary Snider and interior
designer Soni Christensen, will result in a truly
outstanding building of great comfort as well as
beautiful design."
Casey commented, "Having
the Ahlborg family and their company as the builder
on our team will assure our residents of quality-built
homes and a clubhouse that will provide an array
of special recreational spaces for them and their
guests." |
